Let's Play videos
Our Let's Play videos are packed full of handy tips & hints and some explanation of the mechanics of the game so if you need a push in the right direction please give these a watch:
Make sure you play the game in FIRE DRILL mode to begin with!! It'll show you everything you need to know and gives you tons of starting health and powerups. Enjoy!
Stand back from fires. If the Danger Meter around Blaze fills up you'll lose a heart.
If you're getting hurt you can always leave the room and regenerate health.
If you soak an area with your hose, fire takes longer to spread there!
The extinguisher is VERY effective, but doesn’t soak objects, so be sure to follow up with a squirt of the hose.
The hose really is your best friend, but the extinguisher deals with lots of close-up fires very quickly. Use them to complement each other.
Use the RB button (Xbox controller) or ‘X’ key to throw water bombs, which extinguish both normal and electrical fires.
To complete a level you must put all fires out. An exit message will appear when you do. If there's even a sliver of red on your thermometer, there's a fire somewhere.
Use your thermometer to find the fires. The room you're in has a fire in it if the thermometer is filled all the way.
Smokey grey fires are electrical fires. They can only be put out with the extinguisher.
Turning off the power kills all electrical fires.
Use the map to find the quickest way to the power room and get the electricity turned off.
Use your map (LB button or M key) to look for the power room (lighting icon on map) ASAP.
Be sure to cycle between your active powerups using the left and right directional buttons (Xbox controller) or Q and E keys.
Rescuing people gives you an extra minute of time.
Rescuing cats restores one heart to your health.
You don't HAVE to rescue all the people or complete all the missions. Sometimes being quick is more important, especially in your early game.
You must complete missions for Miss Ion to earn upgrade tokens. Use these at the Upgrade screen to unlock each upgrade category. Upgrade Tokens will be retained between games.
